WebSphere Dynacache Monitor

Quick notes on installing the WebSphere Dynacache Monitor

WebSphere Application Server Features

If you leverage WebSphere’s Dynacache (aka Object Cache or Dynamic Cache) they provides several mechanisms to monitor these caches such as a Cache Monitor. It doesn’t come pre-installed so you will have to do this yourself, but the packages come with the Application Server runtimes.

Here is where they reside on my local installation:

local: C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP\runtimes\base_v7\installableApps

Look for:

Install them like any other Application on the Websphere Administrative Console, and you can get to it via.

local: https://localhost:10032/cachemonitor

The only problem is that on certain installations, i’ve noticed that cache monitor display instances for Servlet Caches and not Object Caches.
